The Penn State Eberly College of Science is hosting their annual Ashtekar Frontiers of Science lecture series featuring a number of researchers who address big questions.

On Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026, John Harlim, professor of mathematics, will present “The role of mathematics in modeling and prediction in the era of AI” alongside Helen Greatrex, assistant professor of geography and statistics, who will present “Forecasting Without Data: Rethinking Weather Observations for Disaster Response.”

The lecture will take place in 001 Chemical and Biomedical Engineering Building from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the Penn State University Park campus.
